Working out with Piet as PT was always fun and rewarding: each session he came well prepared and with a lot of energy and spirit to push me towards my goals. Also, when I had an injury, he very cleverly worked the recovery into my work-out routine while supporting me mentally too; so I never felt like I miss-out. I particularly appreciated his focus to my goals and find solutions to advance those (core strength and flexibility) while keeping it fun and varied. I always looked forward to my next session with Piet for the terrific work-out, fun banter but good conversations as a positive constant in my weekly routine as an expat.

I was lucky to train with Piet for a year. I did know that I was a complicated case, with bad posture habits and bone issues for decades. All I was doing when I looked for a PT, was walking. That was it. Piet took the challenge and really did the best out of it! He was able to design a program that took care of my health issues progressively and was dedicated with great patience to get me into the training discipline by working on the basics (a lot of stretching to fight decades of office postures) and strengthening my core to get a healthier spine. Now I feel stronger, encouraged, healthier and able to keep it up! I cannot live without my training routine.

In February 2019 I injured my C5/6 vertebra in my neck. For a year I was limited in the exercise I could do and gained a lot of weight.
I was looking for a personal trainer who would be able to help me reach my weight goals while paying attention to and helping to improve my injuries.
Before agreeing to be my PT, Piet took time to meet and discuss with me my situation and goals, while giving me the chance to understand his approach and have confidence in him.
I having working with Piet for over nine months (since February 2020) and have gone from 98 down to 85kg. We have also been able to build strength in my neck and shoulders. I am confident again in movements and exercises that I had given to trying because I was scared of injuring it again.
PIet is a very capable and knowledgable PT. He has been a dedicated, focused trainer who has also made the sessions fun and enjoyable. I would highly recommend his PT sessions

Piet is a well experienced PT. Therefore, his training approach is well structured and goal-oriented. If you take the training seriously and push yourself, Piets program will help you with whatever you attempt to do. In the first months, we focused on weight reduction which was extremly successful as I lost about 10kg. Afterwards, our focus changed from cardio to weight training in order to enhance muscle mass. In this regard it should be mentioned that Piet takes care alot that you will have the right posture to avoid potential injury. Furthermore, from time to time Piet arranges some extra events on the weekends where all his trainees come together.Overall, I can truly recommend Piet as PT for anyone, who wants to seriously achieve something.

I have never been a sports person. I went swimming, running and trekking sometimes but it was long ago and recently I stopped doing yoga. I had gained almost 6kg in recent 2 years and started home training with youtube during national wide quarantine period. I learned that I need a more professinal way of training to enhance effective workout. That’s why I started personal trainig with Piet, which is one of my best decisions of year of 2020.
We are having almost 50 sessions for 6 months so far and my reviewing of the PT with him is like this.
Normally 3 times a week 90 minutes per session.
1~15 sessions : Waking up my body and muscles.
I had to start from recognizing my muscles. For me, it was very amazing experience to see: “I actually have muscles.” But activating my muscles which have been hibernating for my whole life time was also very challenging and difficult task. Piet’s professional knowledge of muscles helped me a lot to understand how to move and use muscles in the right way. He made me understand well how this movement affects the muscles and to which parts I should pay attention. I also had to learn how to use fitness machines and he taught me with great patience and kindness.
16~30 : General boost of my body and muscles
Every session was well designed targeting differnet parts of body each session. Through an assessment in the beginning he was already aware of my weak, underdeveloped muscles and limits very well and pushed me into harder and heavier training. I felt I was getting stronger little by little. In this period he combined and invented new workout motions in very creative ways. It made me stay interested without getting bored. He is a very creative trainer.
31~For now : Special Training for Survival
Recently I made a plan to explore Sondoong Cave (Vietnam) this winter, which needs strong physical power and stamina. We set a special target of training “Survival in the Cave”. We are more focusing on the specific muscle training for trekking and climbing etc.
His way of training me is “No Negotiation.” Sometimes, very rarely he gives me a “discount” to the weight, but usually he pushes me the extrem. It is also very new experience to me to use my body fully until I totally get exhausted and feel like dying. I love this feeling. I am a person who always enjoy laying down and taking too much rest for my body. My body was just like a big lump of tofu. Soft and fatty. But these days I can see the change in my body. It is getting more firm and tight. Now I can lift up 19 liter water container to the top of the water supplier without help from outside. I am very proud that I can do such things. All that is coming from the training with Piet.
His knowedge of body and muscles is really good and he is always training me with sincere attitude. I enjoy the training with him a lot.

I came to train with Piet because I had a lot of pain in the right shoulder and neck as well as in the lower back. I went to several doctors back in Korea before but they recommended to do some sport. I was really limited in my motions because lifting my right arm had hurt a lot and lifting legs was difficult as well. The pain went up through the neck and created headaches every other day.
All that made me sign up for personal training with Piet and on top going to yoga or group X classes (zumba etc). Piet put a lot of effort into finding out what was wrong since every movement had caused high amounts of discomfort and headache. We figured out that the shoulder pain (impingement) comes from me using the mouse with the right hand all day long in an unnatural position. The problem in the lower back came from me sitting all day which caused muscles to develop wrong. My entire body felt unbalanced, uncontrollable, and unstable.
In the first 3 months of training we started very softly going through motions, stretching and massaging tight muscles and trained softly. I gained some range of motion back but still felt uncomfortable.
After 6 months my pain had decreased a lot and I had barely any headaches. My shoulder was able to move better and also my hip got more stable.
Now after 9 months i can say that my life has improved a lot. I have no headaches at all. I also developed noticable muscles in my entire body. Still I am not 100% there but its truly a lot better then what it used to be!
